About The Department

Sanskrit as a subject of the Programme course was introduced in the 2012-13 academic session. Although only thirty-two students were enrolled in the first session, there has been a considerable rise in the number of students in this department over the years. From the year of 2017, the Department started offering Honours in Sanskrit. The Department recurrently organizes Seminar, Workshop and Lecture Programmes. Since its inception, the department has remained engaged in popularizing the Study of Sanskrit language and literature in the region. The Department also organizes Sanskrit Literacy Programme in the local areas. The Department also has a Seminar library with a small collection of books. At present there are 3 State Aided College Teachers who are always careful for the overall development of students.
