Describe two best practices successfully implemented by the Institution as per NAAC format provided in the Manual

Sitalkuchi College is widely recognised for its dedication to delivering high-quality education and promoting the advancement of the local community. The institution has successfully implemented two best practises that have greatly contributed to its reputation:

1. Gradual Upgradation Towards ICT Based College to Empower Students in the Digital Age:

Today’s educational institutions must stay up with the digital transformation. High-quality education and modern-day skills require ICT. Sitalkuchi College is increasingly becoming an ICT-based college. This change has reduced administrative procedures and transformed teaching and learning, putting the college at the forefront of educational modernization.

ICT’s 21st-Century Importance: ICT can transform education. Sitalkuchi College acknowledged that incorporating technology into every area of its campus was crucial to its success in the 21st century. With this intention, the college began using digital innovation to create a dynamic learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Streamlining Administration: Administrative activities were streamlined to begin the gradual upgrade. Sitalkuchi College automated online admissions and fee payments with various technologies. Digital advances saved students and staff time and eliminated paperwork, making administrative processes more efficient.

Modernising Student and Financial Records: The institution installed office management software to efficiently handle student and financial records. This centralised system lets the administration quickly access vital data. The College has, in the last few years, enhanced data protection and administration by digitising almost all its records.

Integrated Library Management System: The digital transformation of the library has significantly improved the utilisation of resources by faculty members. The utilisation of the Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) and electronic resource subscriptions such as INFLIBNET has greatly enhanced the efficiency of accessing pertinent research materials. The system’s search capabilities facilitate expedient and accurate outcomes, thereby conserving valuable time throughout the research endeavour. In order to remain updated on current research, the library maintains subscriptions to several academic journals and provides access to electronic journals and e-books via the INFLIBNET platform. In order to enhance its services, the library employs the KOHA library software and incorporates a total of ten computers.

Smart Classrooms: Sitalkuchi College has created state-of-the-art smart classrooms with portable all-in, one KYAN machines which enables multimedia tools, interactive whiteboards, audio-visual aids which make these smart classrooms vibrant and engaging.

Free Wi-Fi and CCTV Surveillance: The college offers campus-wide free Wi-Fi to improve study. This connects students and teachers and provides online educational tools. CCTV surveillance also improves campus safety, creating a safe atmosphere for study and personal growth. Sitalkuchi College values open communication with students, parents, and other stakeholders. Bulk SMS and email services are combined to keep everyone informed about college activities, updates, and critical announcements. The college’s website provides stakeholders with important information and updates, strengthening community and shared goals.

Successes and Benefits of ICT Integration: Gradually upgrading to an ICT-based college has had several other benefits. More students are enrolling in college due to the streamlined admissions procedure. Smart classrooms boost student engagement and comprehension. Internet resources have improved teaching and learning by providing students with a variety of instructional materials and research tools. Accessibility has improved their academic performance and growth.

Challenges and the Future: Sitalkuchi College has overcome several obstacles in its ICT integration path. From time to time, infrastructure and finance have hindered the college’s ICT development. Continuous professional development and training programmes are needed to teach professors and staff about the upgradation of ICT tools. The college needs to invest more time, resources, and training to overcome these problems and stay ahead in education technology.

2. Social Responsibility and Community Outreach:

Sitalkuchi College exerts a strong emphasis on endorsing social responsibility among its students, with the aim to produce individuals who become assets to our society. The practice of inspiring students to participate in social outreach programs is motivated by the following objectives: a) Increasing Awareness, b) Fostering Voluntary Work, c) Developing Responsible Leaders & d) Promoting Gender Equalities.Top of Form.

Increasing Awareness: Sitalkuchi College encourages its students to develop a service mentality through off-campus events such as speeches and workshops. Free vaccination camps were held by the college for residents of the surrounding villages during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Fostering Voluntary Work: The college encourages its students to take part in extracurricular activities by launching several programmes on their own time. Among these are visits to retirement communities to chat with the elderly, tree-planting campaigns, blood donation camps, health fairs, campus-wide cleanliness days, and awareness-raising events in rural communities. Expanding initiatives such as Nirmal Bangla and spreading awareness about the importance of health and hygiene is also emphasized and communicated.

Developing Responsible Leaders: Sitalkuchi College’s community engagement emphasises responsible and compassionate leadership. The college encourages students to give back and improve the neighbourhood. The college develops leadership skills including empathy, communication, and problemsolving by giving students community service leadership responsibilities.

Promoting Gender Equality: As part of its social obligation, the university is also helping to empower students in a rural area where gender prejudice is still common. Female students are pushed to develop into strong, confident, and knowledgeable advocates for gender equality.

Challenges and the Future: The college has various difficulties in carrying out these social responsibility initiatives. Some of the problems that need to be fixed to ensure the sustained success and expansion of such efforts include a lack of adequate participants, disruptions created by the epidemic, and financing limits. As the college continues its journey towards full ICT integration, it remains committed to fostering an environment that nurtures innovation, critical thinking, and lifelong learning, preparing students to be leaders and change-makers in the fast-evolving digital world. Additionally, the college is dedicated to its social responsibility practises, which help students develop into productive members of their communities and nations. Inspired by the motto “Touching Lives, Making a Difference”, the students, staff and all the stakeholders of Sitalkuchi College wishes to give back to their communities and make a difference for a better future.
