Grievance Redressal Cell of Sitalkuchi College (GRCSLKC)

Educational Institution is liable to provide a proper learning environment along with the protection of human rights for its students and staffs. A crucial component of every administration is the grievance redressal system. The administration of the college has a duty to ensure that all of its employees and students are in a safe and happy environment. Following the suggestions made by University Grant Commission, New Delhi, Sitalkuchi College has established a Grievance Redressal Cell (GRCSLKC) on 14 .6.2018 [Meeting No. 13/18, dt. 14.6.18, Res No. 4] for redressal of the grievance of students to prevent any type of unfair practices in college and ensure an ambient environment. The Grievance Redressal Cell of Sitalkuchi College is empowered to look into the complaints lodged by any student and redress them as per requirement. The students can state their grievances regarding any academic and non-academic matter within the campus through the online system or can drop their complaints in the grievance/ suggestion box installed at the administrative block. The institution aims at solving the grievances of the students within the stipulated time. The Grievance Redressal Committee has been working tirelessly to make everyone in question feel comfortable and at ease by making the greatest efforts possible.

Objectives

  • The Grievance Redressal Cell has been developed to settle the grievances of the students and other stakeholders within a reasonable time period to establish its responsibility and accountability to the society
  • The quorum for a meeting shall be three (including the chairperson, but excluding special invitees)
  • Awareness will be built among students about grievance redressal Cell and encourage them to express their grievances freely.
  • Suggestion/complaint Box will be installed in the Administrative Block.

Scope

Students may lodge grievances about

  • Syllabus, examination, or any academic matters.
  • Library-related matters
  • Financial matters such as scholarship-related matters
  • Any type of harassment (both mental and physical)
  • And any other offensive activity

Functions

  • The Cell accepts written complaints from students and employees and addresses them immediately.
  • The cell formally will review all cases and will take necessary actions.
  • Grievance redressal committee (GRC) shall consider only individual grievances of the specific nature of students.
  • The GRC may mediate between the complainant and the defendant against whom the complaint has been made if required.
  • The GRC calls regular meetings to solve the grievance and follow up on these issues at regular intervals until they are finally resolved.
  • The cell will prepare a yearly report about the types of cases and number of cases received, solved, and pending.
  • The cell will report to the higher authority about unsolved cases and will act as per the direction of the higher authority if required.
  • GRC shall consider redressing all grievances within a reasonable time.
  • GRC upholds tight secrecy if required.

Power

  • The members of the cell are empowered to take discission for solving the problem.
  • In any special case problem can be solved through discussion with students with prior approval of the principal of the college.
  • If the GRC fails to find any solution, the matter will be referred to the principal.

Procedure for Lodging Complaint:

  • Students can lodge their complaints in the prescribed format with a signature by submitting it in Complaint Box.
  • Students can also avail of this facility by filling out an online form through the college website.
