Code of Conduct for the Principal

  • The Principal will formally establish a policy and strategy to carry out the college's vision and mission.
  • The Principal shall maintain fairness in all of his disciplinary procedures for teachers, non-teaching staff, and students.
  • The Principal will constantly inspire all the employees and students of the College to realise their full potential.
  • The Principal must make sure that all of his staff members and students continue to be aware of the rules, regulations, and processes established by the college.
  • The Principal shall oversee and manage to take corrective measures/actions depending on stakeholders' input.
  • The Principal is expected to make recommendations and send communications to the college's Governing Body.
  • The Principal will take the required steps to carry out both qualitative and quantitative work for the institution's wellbeing.
  • The Principal should pay attention to the students' ideas and is expected to provide a supportive environment accordingly.

Code of Conduct for Teachers

  • The Acts, Statutes, Ordinances, and Service Regulations of Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University serve as the primary guidelines for the Code of Conduct for the teaching faculty.
  • When it comes to upholding the code of professional ethics, the institution entrusts its teaching faculty with the highest care and responsibility.
  • As a part of the academic staff and the college, they are not expected to act in a way that might interfere with their responsibilities or disturb teaching, learning, examinations, or research. They are also not expected to destroy or deface any college property or utilise any of the same in a way that is contrary to the rules and regulations issued by the University or the college authority.
  • According to the college's vision and objective, all faculty members are required to carry out their assigned responsibilities within the confines of institutional regulations and procedures.
  • Teachers must fulfil their obligations to behave themselves in line with the ideals and ethics of their profession.
  • They should uphold an honest conduct and manner that is ideal for the greater community.
  • The complete alignment of a teacher's vision and real practice is anticipated. The pedagogy of each teacher in question should reflect this.
  • They must also possess a patient temperament, a kind demeanour, and a flexible interactivity because of the nature of the profession.
  • Teachers are required to be on the college campus at least 15 minutes prior to the commencement of any examination in the campus for which they are responsible.
  • Before taking any leave, they must notify the principal in advance (at least one day).
  • When reporting for duty, teachers should sign the attendance register.
  • The writing of textbooks, the publication of research papers in reputed journals, and the presentation of papers at seminars and conferences are highly supported by the college authority.
  • Any modification in the class routine by any teacher must be communicated to the Principal in writing.
  • In the framework of career-oriented programmes, teachers are expected to take additional classes for students.
  • The College Authority anticipates that all staff members will collaborate to strengthen the institution and transform it into a model for excellence in higher education.
  • At least two meetings must be held by each department in each semester.
  • Without the Principal's approval, no teacher may schedule meetings on campus, send out handbills to the staff, or send out circulars.
  • Teachers are required to be on time for work during the allotted hours and be accessible on campus unless they are given alternative assignments.

Code of Conduct for Non-Teaching Staffs

  • Every non-teaching employee should arrive at the college on or before 10.30 A.M.
  • All Non-teaching staff shall perform their tasks in accordance with the directions given by the concerned authority.
  • Before taking any leave, they must notify the Principal in advance (at least one day).
  • No Non-teaching staff would not be permitted to leave the college premises before 5 P.M., except permitted by the Principal.
  • The Non-Teaching staff in-charge of Geography Lab should keep it tidy, maintain the equipment correctly, and assist the teacher during practical sessions.
  • In all activities, non-teaching employees must uphold honesty, integrity, and fairness.
  • During working hours, all non-teaching staff shall abstain from using social media and networking sites like Facebook, Whatsapp, etc.
  • The NTS is expected to maintain self-control, restraint, and interact positively with other members of staff, students, and the general public.

Code of Conduct for Students

  • All students are expected to act with proper decorum and dignity always and in all circumstances.
  • The college's library and all communal spaces are always being watched by closed-circuit television (CCTV).
  • Students must work together to safeguard and maintain all college equipment and property. They are expected to maintain the cleanliness of the classrooms, playground, and their common rooms.
  • The principal or any other staff member may be informed of any kind of difficulty faced by any student at any given time.
  • Only with the Principal's approval, students may take part in games and tournaments that aren't organised by the institution.
  • Every working day during business hours, the administrative office is accessible to students. For regular information, however, it is encouraged that the students should consult the college's notice boards or website.
  • Students are not allowed to participate in any political activities within the college premises.
  • When classes are in session, students should not have unscheduled personal visits. The Principal may be contacted for authorization in circumstances of exceptional urgency.
  • The institution shall take disciplinary action against the student(s) if found to have damaged the college property.
  • Ignorance of any rules or regulation cannot be used as a defence by any student.
  • Students are strictly prohibited to using Gutka or such objects and spitting at college premises: and if someone is found to be taking recourse to such activity, strict disciplinary action would be undertaken against him/her.
